'Mythic Realms' — Mobile RPG Complete Audio Package

Full audio production for a mythology-inspired mobile RPG including adaptive soundtrack, 200+ sound effects, UI audio, ambient soundscapes, and boss battle themes.

The Challenge

A game studio was building an action RPG based on Indian mythology for mobile platforms. They needed a complete audio package — music that adapts to gameplay intensity, hundreds of sound effects for combat/spells/UI, ambient soundscapes for 8 unique biomes, and epic boss battle themes. Everything had to be optimized for mobile (small file sizes, low latency) while maintaining cinematic quality. The total audio budget for files was 80MB.

The Approach

Designed a layered adaptive music system using 3-4 stem layers per biome (base ambient, exploration melody, tension layer, combat percussion). These layers crossfade based on game state. Composed 8 biome themes inspired by different Indian musical traditions — Rajasthani desert (sarangi + tabla), Himalayan peaks (Tibetan bowls + drone), Jungle (tribal percussion + flute), Underwater kingdom (ethereal pads + harp). Created all SFX using a combination of Foley recording, synthesized elements, and processed samples. Worked closely with the Unity dev team for FMOD integration, ensuring seamless transitions and <20ms trigger latency.

The Result

Game launched with a 4.6-star rating on Play Store, with 'incredible music and sound' as a recurring review theme. The adaptive music system received a special mention at NASSCOM Game Developer Conference. Total audio footprint came in at 72MB — under budget.
